Sleep Tight Little One

The little cheetah cub was alone as the heat of the savannah scorched her fur. She let out a quiet whimper as her green gaze searched the horizon for a place to rest. Only emptiness could be seen through the masses of yellow grassland. 'Why did you have to leave me mother? Everything is so much harder now...' She cried.

As night began to fall, the plains grew colder. Crickets chirped their songs as animals laid down to rest. The cub looked about, wishing for her mother to be here. Sniffing the air, she found a small patch of grass, a place were she could rest her paws. As sleep finally overtook her, the silhouette of a large cat stood close by smiling softly. Kneeling down to nuzzle the little kit, the she-cat purred, "Sleep tight little one, I will always be with you."
